"Moving Beyond"

What does it actually mean to grow as a follower of Jesus?

This week’s message challenged us with three simple but powerful questions:

Do you know your identity in Christ?

Are you living it out in community?

Are you carrying out your responsibility as part of the body of Christ?

The early church in Acts showed us what this looks like. They lived in deep unity, stayed connected to God, and committed themselves to one another with respect and reverence. Their lives weren’t casual or disconnected. They were fully devoted.

Their mission was clear. Stay connected to God. Stay connected to community. Live with honor for both.

When the church lives this way, something powerful happens. The way we live begins to transform the world around us. Our behavior influences others. Our love replaces dishonor. Our light pushes back darkness.

The goal of the Christian life is not perfection overnight. It is spiritual maturity.

Paul explains in Ephesians 4 that God gave leaders to equip believers so the church could grow into unity and maturity in Christ. We are all on a journey of becoming more like Him. Moving beyond spiritual infancy into stability and growth.

This kind of growth doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community.

In healthy Christian community we speak truth in love. We challenge each other. We allow people to speak into our lives so that the parts of us that still need Jesus can be transformed.

When every person does their part, the whole body grows stronger. The church becomes healthy, loving, and united.

Unity produces growth. Isolation does not.

God designed the church to grow together, helping one another move beyond old patterns and step into the new life He offers.

And that journey toward Christlike maturity is one we walk together.
