We Wrestle With Not Flesh and Blood part 8
So far in this series we have talked a lot about the tactics of our enemy. As we close this series, I want to talk about your final move.
God has many names. Every one of His names reveals a different part of His character to us. Every name of God and every part of God's character is available to us. There are times when we need 'El Shaddai' - God Almighty. There are other times when we need 'Jehovah-Nissi' - The Lord is our Banner. The One who goes before us and behind us to give us victory in all circumstances. The One who prepares a table of celebration in the presence of the enemy.
“You prepare a table before me IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES. You anoint my head with oil; MY CUP OVERFLOWS.” Psalms 23:5
There are times in our lives when we need 'Immanuel' - God with us.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: FOR THOU ART WITH ME;…” Psalms 23:4
There will be times when we need 'Jehovah-Rohi' - The Lord is our shepherd.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; THY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY PROTECT AND COMFORT ME.” Psalms 23:4
Sometimes we get wounded in battle and will need 'Jehovah-Rapha' - the Lord is our healer.
We don't know why, but some recieve a miracle and are healed instantly. Others heal over time with the help of medicine, and others who were not healed in THIS lifetime. God has, can, still does, and will heal you from all your diseases. (psalms 103:3). Most of us only focus on the physical healings that we need... but I wonder if He is more interested in having us holy rather than having us healthy?
‘Jehovah-Rapha’ also wants to bring spritual/emotional/mental healing to you. God didin't say, 'be healthy as I am healthy'. He said, "Be Holy as I am Holy." Whatever is keeping you from being holy, get healing in that area. Don't just focus on your physical diseases and mask/cover up your trauma.
Many times through which he reveals himself to us, everyone of His names reveal a different part of His character to us. That means that you have more than one move in any spiritual battle that you face. You have multiple peaces of amor, and mulitple weapons to defend yourself against the enemy! Nothing evil in the spiritual realm can control, oppress, or possess you when the Mighty God 'El-Gibhor' is on your side.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, MIGHTY GOD (‘El-Gibhor’), Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6

Those words from God's Word shake the very gates of hell. The devil is not afraid of how much you know about spiritual warfare, how loud you can pray in tongues, or your traditions and techniques. You can shout all day at the devil but he cannot be bound by your mere words... he can only be bound by God, and he won't be bound until the end of his time. There is no scriptural support for US binding satan himself. But it says in Matthew 16:19... "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Matthew 16:19 is proof that authority is given by God to the church. The authority that is talked about is the authority to bind the activities of satan and his demons. The authority of the church to declare something forbidden, declare it as allowed. As long as it fulfills God's plan in heaven.
We may not be able to ‘Bind’ satan himself forever to the pit of hell, but we can bind thoughts of suicide, depression, discouragement, discouragement, slumber, rejection, fear, lust, and generational curses. And we can rebuke any demonic spirit, unclean spirit, stronghold, or influence. We can also loosen and release people from the enemy's hold on them, restoration, reconciliation, blessings & favor, someone bound to an addiction. We can also loosen life, joy, peace, contentment, compassion, trust, and general blessings.
I believe we have the authority to bind the activities of darkness and to release the activities of heaven. We may not be able to bind satan himself, but we can cast him out of our lives and our presence so that he is not able to tempt us or influence us anymore. But remember, he will probably try to slither his way back into our garden... that is why tending our gardens (our hearts) and killing the weeds (sin) in our lives is so important. To help us see him more easily when he tries to come back in.
We have the authority to declare satan and his minions to SHUT UP AND GET OUT. However, they may or may not leave at that request. The Bible teaches us to quote the TRUTH of the WORD of God! Why do you think the devil fights so hard for you not to read your bible?
We can spend 5 hours on social media, playing video games, or watching tv. But have you wondered why it is a battle for us to spend more than 5 minutes reading the bible? We think that we have come up with better ways to combat the devil than what Jesus did. When Jesus was being tempted in the wilderness he didn't bind the devil, or pull out anointing oil, or spray him with holy water. No, he quoted scripture! God's word! Let us remember we don't just have defensive armor on, we have an offensive weapon in our hands. The sword of the spirit. The Word of God.
So the next time the devil comes knocking, trying to deceive you, tempt you, or torment you, pull out your living, active, truth and declare it out loud, 'IT IS WRITTEN'.
We talk and sing songs in church about how praise is one of our weapons against the enemy, and that in the bible they would march into battle with worship. Do you know what they were actually singing? SCRIPTURE! Not just some random lyrics to make them feel mighty and powerful. The devil doesn't care how you feel but he trembles at the Word of God. If you are just singing about a characteristic of God, satan already knows that about God, and that didn't stop him from contending with him in heaven. If this was the only weapon that Jesus himself wielded when confronted by satan, maybe we should say, 'SHUT UP AND GET OUT FOR IT IS WRITTEN!' Maybe we should add scripture to our singing and shouting. You can have fun chasing the devil out of your presence and life because we do not fear when Immanual, Jehovah-Nissi, and Jehovah-Rohi is on our side!
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
But, understand something about what Jesus Experienced in the desert... satan didn't go away the first time that Jesus quoted scripture... satan tried and tempted every possible weak area that he thought Jesus had... so don't be surprised that the devil will keep coming at you the same way. When he does, just keep quoting the truth, God's Word at him.

You are never alone in the fight. You have Immanual and us (L&L family) with you. But most of the battles that you go through are YOUR fight. You need to become more confident in your own armor. You need to kill that lion in your life to build up your faith and trust and slay that goliath in your life to bring freedom to your life. If you want to mature in Christ, you have to fight some battles on your own, for the Kingdom of God.
This is how to always WIN in spiritual warfare: Always keep your desires, thoughts, and words on God.
